HEADTEACHER'S WELCOME

Welcome to Castle View School where we are passionate about everyone pursuing excellence to be the best that they can be.

I am delighted to be the Headteacher, leading a school that will focus relentlessly on learning, ensuring that our students have the opportunity to achieve anything and everything they set their minds to. At Castle View, we will value academic success whilst at the same time strive to develop every child into a well-rounded, caring and confident individual who contributes positively to their community and are well-equipped to contribute to our wider society.

Central to securing excellence is the effective partnerships that are key to ensuring that every child has the same chance to succeed. We will continue to work closely with our parents/carers, primary schools and colleagues to ensure that our learning environment is positive and purposeful. At Castle View, we promise to provide a safe, calm and happy environment which will ensure that success is possible for everyone. We believe that all interactions between members of the school community should be based on mutual respect with a common focus on high expectations of ourselves and others.

Our teaching will engage the learner; we encourage curiosity, encouraging them to think and to question. Our dedicated staff of subject specialists will craft lessons that inspire, encouraging our students to drive their own learning and to be able to articulate what they are learning as well as how they are making progress. We feel it is vital to encourage perseverance and provide an environment in which making mistakes are both acceptable and seen as a valuable learning tool. The climate in the classroom should always be one of collaboration, challenge and questioning – student to student as well as teacher to student.
